The EBF FFA known as Agri-Power FFA earned their 11th Iowa State Fair Supreme FFA Chapter award on Saturday, August 20. The FFA members received the honor at a 1 pm ceremony. Melissa Appel (EBF FFA Sponsor) and several FFA members were on hand to receive the award.
The Iowa State Fair holds an annual competition between all 252 FFA Chapters in the State of Iowa. The competition tracks the placings of all FFA members in 18 different divisions(examples: breeding beef, farm crops, horticulture, ag mechanics, market swine, etc.). The scores are tallied and the top 10 Chapters are named in each division. Those rankings are added together to create an overall winner.
Agri-Power FFA secured their 11th overall and fourth consecutive Supreme Chapter title. This is the most titles won by a single Chapter in the history of the contest. It ties the longest streak of consecutive wins previously set in 2012-2015 by Agri-Power FFA.
Mrs. Appel states, “81 Agri-Power FFA members were registered for the competitions that highlight their hard work with their numerous supervised agricultural experiences.”
