Marta Iverson is the new College and Career Transition Coach (CCTC) at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School. The role of a CCTC is to provide direct services to support college and career preparation and post-secondary success to high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and first-year college students from assigned districts. Iverson is a shared resource between EBF and Cardinal High schools, spending Mondays and Thursdays at EBF. In addition to serving students, CCTCs also work with parents, families, and school district staff.

Iverson is originally from Wisconsin, but has lived most of her life in Oskaloosa, Iowa and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 2018. Iverson went to college in Illinois at Bradley University where she studied Public Relations and Advertising and double minored in Creative Writing and Ethics.

Iverson has worked for Indian Hills since October 2022 starting as an Admissions Representative and moved into her role as a CCTC in August 2023. Iverson regularly says, "My job is to help show students their options and encourage post-secondary opportunities in whichever path they choose to pursue."

So far this year, Iverson has worked hard to build relationships with all students and held several meetings to determine each senior's goals for after high school. Additionally, Iverson has worked with Mrs. Spurgeon and Mrs. Glosser to explain the importance of grades to Freshman, helped students navigate college class requirements and expectations, taken students to a College Fair and a day at Indian Hills, worked with students to build activities resumes, and hosted an application day where about half of the senior class applied or showed proof of an application for work, school, apprenticeships, or the military. Coming up next, Iverson plans to have numerous conversations and meetings regarding scholarships and financial aid including a FAFSA Night on January 15 open to all senior student families.
